We are based in Toledo, Ohio after spending 5 wonderful years in St Paul Minnesota!
Our goal is to create beautiful and long lasting contemporary stained glass that is accessible and affordable. The Blackbird’s Window is a safe place for everyone, we value community, art, craft, and diversity.
With a strong belief in accessible art, they strive to create sturdy and beautiful art for all people to own. We hope to prove art at a wide rage of prices so that anyone can have handmade and local art in their home. If you are having financial challenges or are a student, reach out.
Inspiration for work is often drawn from Midwest nature, color theory, abstraction and queer identity.
About the Artist
Maya Tuff focus their art in the mediums of stained glass and mixed media painting. They strive to create a beautiful and safe space for all people to come and experience glass art in approachable and affordable ways.
Maya Tuff attended Luther College, graduating with a BA in Fine arts in 2021. Afterwards they lived in St Paul, MN for 5 years, working and creating art. They developed and learned a lot from the glass community there.
Maya Tuff uses they/them pronouns. They live with their partner and their two cats, Peri and Jim. Outside of glass they enjoy mystery books and swimming in midwest lakes.
